One of the easiest ways to add some life to your space is with wall art. Whether you hang up pictures of friends and family, inspiring words, or decorative accents – your wall can be completely transformed into a work of art in mere minutes. Below are some of my tips for creating a rockin’ photo wall, in addition to a fun print out that you can frame and add to your display.

Tip #1: Hang Different Shapes & Sizes

I find display walls to be more eye-catching if you don’t stick to pieces in only one shape or size. Be adventurous and hang up art in a variety of styles and dimensions – squares, rectangles, circles – you name it!  Speaking of variety…

Tip #2: Display a Variety of Pieces

While it’s fun to create walls with only personal photos, or only inspiriational quotes – it’s more exciting to jazz it up by mixing in a wide array of artwork. I like to configure my wall by laying an assortment of pieces out on the floor and playing around with the arrangement before hanging ’em up – it’s much easier moving things around this way before putting holes in the wall.

Tip #3: Get Creative

SLT-5x7

The above printable is something I hand lettered and digitized in Adobe Illustrator. The PDF consists of two 5X7 graphics that can be printed out on standard 8.5×11 paper. If you have a great idea in your head, get creative and whip it up. It’s not only fun to create pieces, but you’ll also be generating something unique that no one else will have shining on their photo wall. Think outside of the frame and get creative.

Tip #4: Change it Up

I like to revamp my photo wall every so often to align with my mood and the seasons. My gold shimmering pineapple is on point with the Chicago weather warming up, but in the Fall I might swap the tropical fruit for a festive gold leaf.
