Chicago is home to more than a few delectable gems – Amorino happens to be one of them. One minute you’re wandering down State street, and the next you’re lounging inside of a cozy, elegant gelateria.
While just the taste of Amorino’s gelato is enough to get you to come back, the appearance is nothing short of aesthetic magnificence. The luscious gelato is meticulously shaped onto cones in the delicate shape of flower petals. It almost looks too good to eat – almost.
To visit this sinfully delicious gelato spot, make your way to Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood and head to the corner of State and Chestnut. The doors will magically open upon your arrival – they’re automatic – and you’ll be whisked into gelato heaven.
Amorino, a Paris-based gelateria, was created by two childhood best friends, Cristiano Sereni & Paolo Benassi. The Italian duo opened their first location in 2002 and have since expanded to open 7 U.S. boutiques and over 100 locations worldwide. While Amorino was born in Paris, the shops feature traditional Italian gelato inspired by the authentic gelato the pair grew up enjoying.
This Italian-Parisian fusion is likely what brought life to the tantalizing gelato-filled macarons neighboring the gelato case. You best believe I’ll be back for one of those.
What are you waiting for? Run, don’t walk to get your gelato fix. The few extra calories you burn running will totally justify you ordering a large cone.
