We all deserve to treat ourselves to a little pick-me-up every now and then to brighten up our days. Between working, checking things off of your to-do list, whipping up meals, etc. – it’s easy to overlook doing something special for yourself.
Well, I’m here to remind you that it’s a good thing to stop and pamper yourself sometimes. It may only take one small act to turn a good day into a great one. Keep reading for some of my favorite ways to add some sparkle to your days.
Number 1: Treat Yourself to a Fancy Coffee Drink
Breaking the bank to buy a fancy 2-pump raspberry coconut milk latte might not be feasible on the day to day, but every once in a while it’s okay to splurge and treat yourself to that expensive drink. Besides – things tend to taste even better when you only enjoy them occasionally. You’ll be happily savoring every sip on your more caffeinated, brightened day.
Number 2: Read a Book
Whether you have a novel you’ve been itching to read or a magazine you’ve been yearning to flip through, set some time aside to relax and crack that baby open.
Number 3: Take a Bubble Bath
Most of us have a bath tub that rarely gets used. Fill that tub up, add some bubbles or a fancy bath bomb, and sink in to relieve the stresses of the day.
Number 4: Cook Something New
I’m absolutely guilty of adding delectable recipes to my Pinterest boards that never make it remotely close to my cutting board. Make it a point to set some time aside to finally whip up that new recipe you’ve been meaning to try.
Number 5: Treat Yourself to Something Sweet
Number 6: Get a Manicure
With all that you put your hands through on a daily basis, you deserve to give them some tlc. You don’t have to dig too deep into your piggy bank for this little spa treatment either – most salons offer manicures for under $20.
Number 7: Take a Yoga Class
Yoga provides a multitude of both physical and mental benefits. Pop into your local yoga studio and see for yourself. Most studios offer free trials to new clients as well, so you won’t have to clear out your wallet to add some balance to your day.
Number 8: Go for a Walk
Sometimes, it’s refreshing to get out and breathe in some fresh air. Not only is getting out for a walk good for your health, but it can help clear your mind too. Lace up your sneaks and hit the pavement for this free mood-booster.
Number 9: Watch a Mindless TV Show
After thinking all day long, tuning into some mindless evening TV might be just what you need. With all of the reality shows nowadays, there’s surely no shortage of programs to brighten up your night. Kick back, relax, and indulge in whatever TV show catches your attention.
Number 10: Buy Some Flowers
This is my absolute favorite way to brighten up my day. There’s just something about being near fresh flowers that makes everything around you a little bit brighter. I usually opt to hit the floral department at Trader Joe’s for their exceptional selection of healthy, beautiful flowers at great prices.
